Living the Faith Program

One of the core values of Scotus Central Catholic is to serve the Lord.  This was best exemplified by Christ’s service and sacrifice to others.  We are compelled by Christ to serve. “I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35)

At Scotus Central Catholic, we want to instill in our students and staff members this spirit of service and selfless love.  To facilitate this, we encourage our students and staff to participate in valuable service that will glorify God and help their neighbors.   The Living the Faith program encourages students to discover and use the gifts God has given them to share His love with those around them and encounter Him in those they serve.

The Campus Ministry Team is open to students grades 9-12 who want to deepen the faith life of our school and grow in community with their peers. The students on the Campus Ministry Team seek to model Jesus Christ by actively living out their Catholic faith and representing Him both in and outside of the classroom. We work together to provide our school with vibrant Catholic experiences and to support each other in growing closer to the Lord. Our ultimate goal is that we would come to know, love, and serve God together, and help each person in our school to do the same. Although we have a group of students dedicated to these goals, it is unlike every other “club” or “activity” at Scotus in that all faculty members and students are invited to be sharers in Jesus’ call to love one another and to be His presence in the world today.

Events sponsored by Campus Ministry (i.e., food drives, charity collections, Masses, prayer services, retreats, etc.) are meant to help each person at Scotus grow in his or her own relationship with God, and to live the Gospel message with a sense of duty and urgency. The student leadership team collaborates with the Campus Minister in planning and executing specific faith opportunities, but all students and teachers are called to live their faith fully here at Scotus Central Catholic.
